The research should now be organized into networks to handle societal and industrial challenges. Facing these issues, clusters of laboratories can provide consistent and comprehensive responses.
G2Elab has created, organized or managed a large number of such networks, either at local, national or international levels.
The Rhone-Alpes "Energy" research cluster, a supporting tool of scientific networks has been initiated by G2Elab.
Nationally, G2Elab has greatly contributed to the emergence of the competitiveness cluster Tenerrdis and currently animates the program "Power networks management".
Also nationally, G2Elab was one of the founding laboratories of the GDR "SEEDS" of the CNRS;
In 2007, he was the creator with the CEA-LITEN of the Carnot Institute "Energies of the Future", that he currently manages. With more than 800 researchers, engineers and technicians, this institute is becoming a national leader in the field of new technologies for energy.
Finally, at the international level, G2Elab initiated and lead several structuring actions such as the CRISP program in the field of smart grids
