Technical resources

We have access to numerous technical resources to support our research activities, characterization and prototyping.

We have access to most technical software and tools that are useful in power electronics, from the most traditional to specific modeling and simulation tools. Coming from the long term co-development, we are access to ALTAIR software for finite element modeling. More recently we have integrated in our portfolio database and tools in order to support life cycle assessment.

Regarding hardware technical resources, we have a large experimental facility where we are conducting most of our component and converter level prototyping development and characterizations. It includes thermal characterization resources for our packaging research activities as well as die level characterization bench for WBG devices and conducted EMI characterization bench. Below is a non exhaustive list of our experimental and technical resources:

  • Carapace (electro-thermal characterization bench at power die level)
  • Conducted EMI characterization bench
  • Component and converter losses calorimetric characterization infrastructure
  • Climatic chamber and active thermal cooling characterization bench (air forced and diphasic cooling)
  • HIL
  • Impedance meters, multiple supplies (low and high power, voltage and current), multiple loads

Technical platform associated to PE team

Several team members are involved and/or managing technical platform related to power electronics key R&D topics. This is especially the case for PHELINE and CERMS technical resources which give us access to EMI characterization bench and packaging and PCB assembly equipment. We also have access to micro-nano technology platform hosted by the University with the CIME nanotech and PTA renatech clean rooms.
