Seun

Seun's research addresses why open data - a recognised enabler of the energy transition - has not yet become central to the energy and electrical engineering fields. The work introduces the Open Energy Data Lifecycle (OpEnDaLe), a methodology guiding the full life cycle of open energy datasets, from creation through to the feedback loops that follow their reuse. It adds explicit stages for mobilisation, valorisation, user interaction, and impact tracking, adapting generic data-stewardship models to the realities of energy systems.

LifeCycle

OpEnDaLe was validated through five case studies hosted by the Observatoire de la Transition Énergétique – Université Grenoble Alpes (OTE-UGA), ranging from an electric-vehicle pilot dataset to residential consumption and a rooftop weather-station feed. These show how the nature of the data shapes the lifecycle, and how privacy-aware aggregation, community forums, and reproducible pipelines unlock reuse even for sensitive or GDPR-constrained data.
