Cursus

I have been an associate professor at the Grenoble Electrical Engineering Laboratory (G2Elab) and the École Nationale Supérieure de l'Eau, de l'Énergie et de l'Environnement (ENSE3 - Grenoble INP) since September 2023. My research focuses on electrical and energy engineering, with links to other fields such as social sciences and thermal engineering. My main research area is energy modelling, with applications such as waste heat recovery, energy communities, sufficiency and Low-tech.

After studying electrical engineering, my thesis work enabled me to question the practices of openness and collaboration in the field, and to develop methods and tools for open energy modelling processes for academics, citizens' groups, local authorities and design offices. In addition, my thesis work addresses the specifics of opening up knowledge in the field of energy, with the ethical issues involved in energy research, a historical approach to energy modelling practices and epistemological considerations. The concept of Low-Tech is also discussed, as an alternative incarnation of openness in the field of energy. A pivotal post-doctoral year enabled me to explore two themes: one in Grenoble, focusing on the place of appropriate digital technology in relation to socio-ecological issues, and the second in Berlin, focusing on the development of documentation standards for open materials. These missions are part of a reflection on research practices in the service of equitable and sustainable energy futures.
